I think an article from Chosun Ilbo may be a good answer for Larry's question regarding politicians' reactions to political or diplomatic results such as FTA. Even Jun Ye-Ok, a politician of Han Na Ra party well-known for her severe criticism, evaluated the result and the Korean team highly and praised them. She said that history will remember them and we Koreans will be proud of them regardless of outcomes of assessment. I tried to find an English version. But here is a Korean version for those who can read Korean. Those reactions are somewhat different from what I assessed in class yet this is the current situation in Korean politics.
